Travelling to southern and southwestern Saudi Arabia Or to the region: Asir/Al-Baha/Jazan/Najran: ⚫️ Beginning.. He who does not thank people does not thank God This report would not have been published without the grace of God and the generosity of a generous brother The entire road trip and every path was the only source of knowledge Thanks and gratitude to him He took great care to review this report and publish it so that people from inside and outside Saudi Arabia could benefit from it. ⚫️ How do you travel from Riyadh to Abha? The best road🚙 from the central region(and those coming from eastern Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries will benefit from it): 1/ Al-Rain Road (Riyadh - Al-Rain - Bisha - Sabt Al-Alaya - Al-Namas - Abha) and vice versa. ▪️ Road speed to Bisha: 120 ▪️ Road speed from Bisha - Sabt Al Alaya to Abha (Al Sarat Road): varies and most of it does not exceed 100

2/Al-Wadi Road (Riyadh - Al-Aflaj / Laila / Wadi Al-Dawasir - Tandaha - Abha) and vice versa. ▪️Road speed: 120

▪️You can go from Abha to Jazan.
▪️You can go from Abha to Najran.
💡My travel time: August 2024. ▫️The Rin path was tried in going And the valley road in returning. ▫️Both are new paths for me. The judgement will be realistic and honest, without exaggeration (positive/negative) ▫️Both: safe/excellent quality/suitable for families/women alone ▫️Both: double (except 80 km before Bisha...one...work is currently underway to convert it into a double) Option 1🚗: Rhine Road (I recommend it...for personal reasons👍) 1/Riyadh - Al-Muzahmiyah - Al-Rain - Bisha: https://maps.app.goo.gl/WyroeymGi4NgcFA2A?g_st=ic
▪️🚙 Riyadh Bisha: About 700 = approximately 7 hours (if you drive at 120 km) ▫️A new, single-pedal road from Al-Muzahmiyah to Bisha. There are no stops and towns. You will stop once at a checkpoint and at a gas station. ⛽️ ▫️Safe (for families and women alone. One/two people. From experience) ▫️ Road security patrols along the way, and there are 4 road security centers. ▫️There are Saher cameras (they help reduce recklessness) ▫️Very excellent during the day ▫️High quality ▫️ Double lane, except for 80 km before Bisha: single lane, but of high quality (a reminder to pay more attention while driving) ▫️Fun mountain formations on both sides of the road. Children enjoy the funny formations such as the rabbit/elephant. You can take souvenir photos of them.
▫️ There are gas stations ⛽️ spaced along the road, except for the last 150 kilometers before Bisha... but in this area: the Road Security Center, so there is no need to worry)
▫️ I advise filling the car at the stations at the beginning of the road (around Al-Muzahmiyah, and be careful after the middle of the road to fill it at the stations on your way)
▫️Do not drive on The Rain road in the dark at all Because:
1/ There is no housing or villages suitable for stopping after Al-Muzahmiyah to Bisha
2/ The lack of large and advanced stations used for rest
3/ During the day there are many camels and there is no problem with that because you will see them, but at night the visibility range is short so it is safer not to drive at night.
▫️For those outside Riyadh...you have the option of living in the far west of Riyadh on the Jeddah/Mecca road or in Al-Muzahmiyah...a serviced place with decent housing next to a supermarket, various restaurants and a pharmacy...everything is around you. Tried: Touareg apartments An excellent option (comfortable, with a garden in front of it, and safe even for women alone) https://maps.app.goo.gl/wUVaruGVjMt2NXyc9?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy ▫️These are pictures from my photography of the road in August 2024:
Option 2🚗: Al-Wadi Road (Abha - Khamis Mushait - Tandaha - Wadi Al-Dawasir - Laila - Riyadh) and vice versa. https://maps.app.goo.gl/2BUygaCz4z4emgy58?g_st=ic ▫️ Its actual duration based on Google Maps: after leaving Khamis Mushayt (because Abha and Khamis Mushayt are connected to each other... inhabited neighborhoods) So, the beginning of the road from Khamis Mushayt to Riyadh: 11 hours But you will need more than that... Let's calculate it: -From Khamis Mushait to Wadi Al-Dawasir: about 400 km = 4 hours -For the first 200 kilometers, your speed will be 20 and most of them will come to a complete stop due to bumps and checkpoints. ▫️From Wadi Al-Dawasir to Riyadh, passing through (Al-Aflaj/Laila) Governorate: About 600 km = 6 hours But in reality, you will need more than that because you will be crossing moderately populated governorates from entry to exit. Your speed will be between a complete stop for checkpoints and signals / 20 km for speed bumps. The rest of the way to Riyadh It allows you to drive for a period of time, up to the maximum speed: 130 km
